Root Canal Thearpy

Root canals are very commonly done dental procedures used to repair damaged teeth. This simple treatment likely will save your tooth and prevent the need of a dental extraction.

In the center of each tooth is an area called the pulp chamber. The pulp chamber consist of nerves and blood vessels. These blood vessels and nerves run down the root of the tooth.

Sometimes bacteria makes their way into the pulp chamber and causes irreversible damage to the nerves and blood vessels. When bacteria enters the pulp chamber, this often results in pain.

Root canal therapy will gently remove the infection and replace the infected tissue with a dental material called gutta percha likely resulting in the alleviation of pain.
